31/12/2007 - Assembling the trim tab

Some components had not been sprayed yet for the trim tab; so first job of the day was to get them sorted out.  Once dry it was a relatively simple matter to get the trim tab riveted up.

05/01/2008 - Elevator skeleton inspection -- failed !!!

Disaster;  Martin notices that there is a hair width gap between the bearing strengthening plates and the elevator spars.  All four; two on each spar.  Its enough to see day light when holding the skeleton up to the light.  It means I need to drill out a total of 36 rivets in total and hope I don't 'trash' any of the components when I do it.

Still you learns something new everyday; isn't that how the saying goes; but that doesn't help much as I feel bit fed up about it; a bit fed up I did not notice it.  Tomorrow is another day as they say...crikey where are all these sayings coming from !!!
